FES GROUP understands that the owner wishes to contract with a qualified and experienced firm to provide Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspection Services during the construction phases of this facility. The testing and inspection services are intended to verify compliance with the Project Specifications. The testing and inspection services may include pile installation monitoring, drill shaft installation monitoring, sampling, testing and inspection of earthwork, stabilized soils, cast-in-place concrete, lightweight concrete, grout, masonry and structural steel. Proper documentation of all testing and inspection activities and reporting of results in a timely manner are imperative. The System FES GROUP has a proven track record involving testing and inspection of major projects. On such projects we oversee all phases of fabrication and construction. During FES GROUP involvement with these types of projects, we have developed systems for tracking and reporting all testing and inspection activities. We have developed a fully computerized system for tracking all testing activities and material quantities tested and inspected. The four cornerstones of our system are: • FES GROUP has also developed the "Daily Action Notice" as a quality control warning system to flag areas that have failing or questionable test results. This tool enables all parties on the project team to immediately begin addressing problems that arise and assures that “no surprises” are encountered when a problem arises. The solutions then can be addressed before the problems can impact the project schedule. • In addition, FES GROUP utilizes various systems, such as the one to statistically evaluate the results of concrete strength tests; this is in accordance with ACI-214, “Recommended Practice for Evaluation of Strength Test Results of Concrete.” During FES GROUP involvement with major projects, we use the statistical analysis procedure for analyzing concrete data for all mix designs used on a project. This identifies certain trends to determine if adjustments in mixes are needed, such as reducing or increasing cement content or changing water ratio. • Our inspection and testing team considers effective communication to be the key to success in this work. FES GROUP understands the importance of regular communication among all concerned parties. We also understand the need to solicit approval or advice regarding concerns about production, delays, coordination issues, or other relevant matters with the appropriate personnel. The FES GROUP team will utilize its own personnel and resources to assess any problems and develop recommendations for resolution of any concerns for presentation to the Project Team. Written documentation of concerns and recommendations will be transmitted in a timely manner to designated representatives. All communications between our staff and Contractor personnel will be documented in writing by way of inspection reports, communication memoranda or formal letters. |
